All things Nautical! Movies: Pirates of the Caribbean, Ship Wreck, Master and Commander. Very cool stuff! As a diver, I want to know more...where, when, etc...

Nick Mares replied:

“Jordan’s beloved “pirate ship” began life in 1914 as a St. Lawrence River ferry named Le Progress. It was converted into a floating restaurant in 1991 and built to resemble La Grande Hermine (The Big Weasel), the ship French explorer Jacques Cartier sailed along the St. Lawrence River in 1535. An owner with big dreams but little money parked the vessel in the marina of the Beacon Harbourside Inn on Canada Day 1997 – the final stop on an odyssey of unpaid dockages along the St. Lawrence River. Arsonists cooked the floating restaurant in a 2003 blaze, leaving a slowly rusting hulk on the Lake Ontario shoreline.” That's how much i can find on this. Regards, Nick

Standing behind my camera is a captivating, almost magical feeling. I see photo opportunities in all walks of life. Capturing beauty has become my thrill. Travelling has exposed me to tastes, sounds, and cultures previously unknown to me. All places on this planet have its own beauty regardless of the season you visit. My fave places were through Europe, North America up to Nunavut above the tree line, Caribbean, hub of the Middle East, Asia and many more... I am most fascinated by nature including the sun, landscape, micro-images of flowers and the general wildlife. I also appreciate the weather and all its characteristics. Historic sites and architectures are known to capture my eyes when the moment is right. As my long...
